You’re getting married! Congratulations. If you’re looking to hold your nuptials among nature, Adelaide has some beautiful parks and open spaces which are perfect for weddings, ceremonies and photographs.
Location, location
The Adelaide Park Lands are made up of a total of 29 parks and squares across Adelaide city and North Adelaide. Some of the most stunning settings and popular ceremony sites include Veale Gardens, Brougham Gardens, Bonython Park River Bank, and other sites on the River Torrens, in particular Angas Gardens and Grundy Gardens. The beautiful Adelaide-Qingdao Rose Garden has recently been made available as a wedding venue.

Please note: Wedding ceremonies cannot be booked in the Adelaide Himeji Garden.

Veale Gardens
Veale Gardens is a large stunning area of lush green lawns and different semi-formal landscaped areas. Located off South Terrace, it is divided into 13 sites, including the popular Rock Pools, Sunken Garden and Wisteria Pergola.

Adelaide-Qingdao Rose Garden
The beautiful Adelaide-Qingdao Rose Garden was first unveiled in 2018. In addition to its natural beauty, the Adelaide-Qingdao Rose Garden offers deep symbolism and is home to the striking ‘Song of the Wind’ statue and the exquisite City of Qingdao Rose, bred and donated by renowned South Australian rose hybridist, George Thompson.
Site fees
A nominal fee is charged by City of Adelaide when booking a site within the Adelaide Park Lands. Site fees are based on the time of year (summer: 1 October to 30 April, and winter: 1 May to 30 September), location in the Park Lands (refer chart) and size of the site.

Bookings are generally made for a period of three hours, which gives you time to set-up and pack-up, so there’s no stress for the next party using the site.
Applications cannot be received until 12 months prior to the Wedding Ceremony date. Sites impacted by major events and projects cannot be processed until 6 months prior to the Ceremony.

Wedding photography
While there is no fee and no booking required to take wedding photographs in the Adelaide Park Lands, we suggest you contact the City of Adelaide’s Event Management Team in advance, to find out if there are any events or wedding ceremonies booked into the space(s) where you wish to have your photographs.
Wedding receptions
A wedding reception is classified as an event. If you wish to hold your wedding reception in the Adelaide Park Lands you will need to book a space.
